The Lagos State ministry of Health in collaboration with the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Chief Dr Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo on Tuesday July 23rd, 2024, commenced a project which offered free medical services to all the market traders across the nooks and crannies of Lagos state.
The pilot stage of this project was held at the Market Office, Alausa Ikeja where all the Market leaders (men and women) were screened free of charge for early detection of their HBP level, prostrate cancer, cervical cancer, breast cancer and also for eye defects and distribution of glasses for immediate sight corrections.
The program was a huge success as the traders received the initiative with joy and turned themselves in for examination and immediate treatment and further recommendations.
The Iyaloja-General thanked His Excellency, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, and the Commisioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi and the team of medical experts on the field for the laudable initiative and for giving back to the grassroots. “This will help us to reduce the incidence of medical emergencies among the people of my primary Constituency,” she added.
The beneficiaries also raised their voices of appreciation to “Mr. Sellable” for the free medical services rendered to them, and they promised to always stand by the Lagos State government in all their programs.
Having completed this first stage, the medical team shall commence visitation to all the markets in Lagos, one after the other render the same free Healthcare services to the traders; free of charge.
