The Association of Ex-Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ASELGON) held its South-West conference today March 1st, 2022 at Park Inn, Kuto, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun who was ably represented by The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, was one of the keynote speakers at the event.
In his remarks, Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Salis conveyed the Governor’s goodwill message to ASELGON as he delivered the governor’s message to the body encouraging them to focus more on community Policing/Security as a means of sustaining peace and sanity in every concerned part of the country.
Shuaib charges the body to look inward and identify all the security networks working in their various states and form a synergy with them to maintain law and order and he also charged the stakeholders to collaborate with different existing security outfits to tackle any form of insecurity rather than setting up an entirely new Security apparatus.
The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Salis further enjoined all the south-western region of ASELGON to join forces together to secure their borders and territories, as he also advised them to work hand-in-hand with ALGON.
Lastly, Shuaib charged ASELGON to work on their publicity networks, so that the people can be carried along as they advance in their various programs.
The Chairman of Odeda LG, Hon. Folasade Adeyemo gave a goodwill message where she appreciated the privilege given to her to be part of the conference as She applauded the organizers and all the participants of this year’s South-West ASELGON conference held in Abeokuta.
Also in attendance was Hon. Semiu Bola Lawal former Chairman of Odeda local government who is an Honourable member of ASELGON.
The event was brought to a close with an award presentation; where Mr. Edward was conferred an award of Excellence by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, and Co-presented by Hon. Folasade Adeyemo of Odeda local government.
