In a bid to eliminate the spread of Malaria disease, the Executive Chairman, Odeda Local Government, Hon. (Alhaja) Folashade Adeyemo has flagged off the distribution of 99,000 Insecticide nets across the ten wards of the Council area.
At the event held at the Conference room of the Local Government on Thursday 26th August 2021, Hon Adeyemo expressed her appreciation to the Ogun State Government under the able leadership of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, and the partner agencies for the timely and concerted efforts geared towards control and elimination of malaria disease. She equally enjoined the residents of the local government to sleep inside the net every night to protect them from mosquitoes, which spread malaria. Speaking at the event, Mrs. Olabisi Sagalu the technical assistant from the Ogun State Ministry of Health enlightened the gathering on the appropriate use of the insecticide net.
Other speakers at the event include Mrs. Chinyere Okolo, from SFH, Dr. Abayomi Erinoso, representing Youth Saver Initiative and Mrs. Titilayo Agbaje, the Local Government’s Acting Primary Health Coordinator. Dignitaries at the event include the Vice Chairman, Hon. Yaya Nasiru, the Leader of the Legislative House, Hon. Rotimi Adeyemi and members of the Legislative Council. Others include the Acting Head of Local Government Administration, Engr. Anthony Ayoade, Bishop Richard Ige, the CAN Chairman, Odeda Local Government, Alhaji Chief Olajide Oliyide, Chief Imam, Odeda Local Government as well as principal career officers of the Local Government.
Highpoint of the event was the decoration and presentation of Award of “Odeda LGA Net Advocate” to the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Alhaja) Folashade Adeyemo.
