On Saturday, July 20th, 2024, the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Chief Dr Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, paid a working visit to Ilorin, the capital city of Kwara State.
She was received by the First Lady of Kwara State, Her Excellency, Amb. (Prof) Mrs Olufolake AbdulRazaq at the Kwara State Government House, Ilorin, where Iyaloja General commiserated with the government of Kwara State over the passing of the Iya-Oja of Kwara State, Lt. Alhaja Sidikatu Asabi Akaje, who passed on last week.
The First Lady in her welcome address, appreciated Folasade Tinubu-Ojo for the way she organized the market structures across the country, particularly in Kwara state and she commended the Traders in Kwara state for always supporting the programs of Governor Abdulrahman led administration.
Ambassador Olufolake also highlighted so many ways that the government, in return, has been supporting the traders across the state by making available to them, loans, and grants to support their businesses and expanding market facilities to areas without an organized market structures.
Both the commisioner for trade and water resources also gave their voices and promised not to relent in supporting the Traders communities across Kwara State.
The Iyaloja-General thanked His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq (in absentia), for the good works he’s doing in Kwara state and specially thanked Her Excellency, Amb. (Prof) Mrs Olufolake AbdulRazaq for supporting the people of her primary constituents by giving them a voice in the current administration.
Shortly after departing the Government House, the Iyaloja-General paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased Iya-Oja of Kwara, Lt. Alhaja Sidikatu Akaje. The family of the deceased was glad to see Iyaloja-General, and they thanked her for finding it worthy to pay last respect to one of her subjects, despite her busy schedules.
The Iyaloja-General requested special Prayers to be offered to some of the market leaders and traders who have gone to be with their maker, asking God to grant them Aljana Firdaus.
Finally, while reacting to one of the requests of the first Son of Lt. Alhaja Sidikatu Akaje, Iyaloja-General promised to discuss with Kwara State Government on the possibility of naming of the markets in Ilorin after the late Iya-Oja of Kwara state as a means of immortalizing her name and memories.
As soon as the Iyaloja-General departed the Akaje’s family house, she paid a courtesy call to one of her fathers, Alh. Chief Dr. Abdur-Raheem Oladimeji (OFR, FNAEAP, SPSP), who is the founder of the Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Kwara State. They both shared fond memories of the past as Baba Oladimeji showered Prayers on his daughter; Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, as he urged her not to be weary in her good works.
