The news of the passing of His Royal Highness, Dr. Mallam Haruna; Mai Yasin Katsina Sarkin Sasa Sardaunan broke out on Saturday, 1st of March, 2025. Dr Mallam Haruna was the chairman, Council of Arewa Chiefs, in seventeen (17) southern states in Nigeria until his passing.
On Monday March 3, 2025, The Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Chief Dr Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo Paid Condolence Visit to the Ibadan palace of deceased Sarkin-Sasa to Condole with His family members, followers and the entire Arewa communities across the seventeen southern states under his reigns before he passed on.
Iyaloja-General described the late Sarkin-Sasa, Dr. Haruna as a man of peace who was very instrumental to the peaceful coexistence between the Arewas and their host communities across the southern-Nigeria.
Folasade Tinubu-Ojo also described the late Sarkin Sasa as a man of impeccable character during his lifetime, “we are all going to miss him, but we can only thank God for the great legacies He left behind” she added.
The leaders of the Arewas present at the Sarkin-Sasa residence thanked Iyaloja-General for coming around to Condole with them within the shortest time frame possible, they thanked her for the motherly roles she always play to see the Arewas live in peace and harmony across the southern region.
Before her departure, Iyaloja-General also condole all the surviving wives of the late Sarkin-Sasa, she promised not to be far away from the Family, she congratulated the newly appointed Sarkin-Sasa and Pledged her unwavering commitment to see him succeed even much more than his predecessor.
