The Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS) has taken delivery of seven buses and five cars from the State government, to enhance its activities in generating revenue for the State.
The Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo while handing over the operational vehicles to the Executive Chairman, OGIRS, Mr. Olugbenga Olaleye in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said the vehicles were not only for revenue mobilisation, but to improve their efforts in enforcement of payment of taxes across the State.
Okubadejo pointed out that a lot of transformational agenda had been put in place since the inception of the present administration which include digitisation of internal revenue operation from the website to taxpayers, among others.
“We have digitised a lot of services to make payment of taxes convenient to our taxpayers to pay in the comfort of their offices and homes, and to further enhance the activities of the agency, we are giving out 7 buses and 5 cars”, he said.
Responding, the Chairman OGIRS, Mr. Olaleye appreciated the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for the support, assured of optimum use of the vehicle, adding that the gesture would enable the agency have better engagement with taxpayers.
