Oyetunde Adeola Esther the Chief Executive Officer of OLORI ADEOLA FOUNDATION had taken a giant step once again to ensure that young and adults whom unavoidably found themselves at the rural edge of the society are not neglected.
Recently, her foundation began a tour through all the Public Schools that fall within the rural settlements across Ogun State as the flag off point for the National Rural Education Assistance Programme she runs to cater for the basic needs of Pupils who are from homes where their parents suffered from financial inadequacies.
Speaking to our news correspondence, Olori Adeola expresses shock at the level of deficiencies and inadequacies suffered by pupils who find themselves studying in almost all the public schools in those remote villages she had visited
She lamented when she saw the dirty stream where some pupils from a particular Local Government Primary School live on; She gathered from both the teachers and the pupils that, sometimes they had to fetch the water from that dirty stream and keep such water for twenty-four hours after applying some water purifying pebbles popularly called POTASH ALUM before anyone would be able to drink from the water.
Another thing she noticed was that 70% of the pupils trekked for close to 2km on daily bases to attend classes with about 50% of the total school pupils population coming to school bare-footed. Some of the pupils also attend classes with rag-like torn school uniforms, No toilet at all in all the schools visited so far.“The kindergarten pupils attending their classes under tree-shades was the most heart-wrenching part of my discoveries” she said
Most of the pupils have never heard the world “Children Day” let alone celebrating one with their classmates, Hence the reason she has promised to organize Children Day’s party for them on the 27th of May, 2021. She vows to use the little resources at her disposal to organize Children Day Party for the pupils in one of those Schools she visited.
In Conclusion,Oyetunde Adeola Esther, The Founder and C.E.O of Olori Adeola Foundation seizes this opportunity to call on great men and women all over the world to join her in her campaign for Rural Education Assistance for all children born in the remote villages across Nigeria.
In togetherness, we can make learning fun for them. Our Pupils don’t have to drink harmful water nor do they have to walk barefooted nor go to school half-naked every days of their childhood before they can be Educated.
The world is in chaos today because of the neglected, you and I have responsibilities to make the world around us a better habitation for all.
