The National President of Asiwaju Presidential Support Moving Train Home and Abroad, Comrade Olaide Oladeebo (Okadigbo) on Tuesday July 29th, 2024 frowned at the incessant habit of Peter Obi and his social media bully-dogs in a press release granted from his office; addressing the need for the defeated labour party presidential candidate Peter Obi and his men’s campaign of calumny against the person of Dr. Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo; the first daughter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).
Below, is the address of Mr Oladeebo on the issues:
Esteemed ladies and gentlemen of the press,
We have taken cognisance of a mischievous publication circulated in some sections of the press, claiming that our esteemed Matron, the Iyaloja General of Nigeria and First Daughter of the Federation led a counter-protest in Abuja, where protesters were allegedly paid ₦4,000 each.
The puerile publication was credited to Peter Obi’s Grassroots Mobilization, on the behest of their paymasters who are hell-bent on tarnishing the image of the Iyaloja General of Nigeria, Chief (Mrs) Folasade Tinubu-Ojo.
We, The Asiwaju Presidential Support Moving Train Home and Abroad, want to state clearly that our Matron , Chief Dr. Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, did not lead any protest in Abuja or elsewhere as wrongly circulated by the Peter Obi’s author(s) of mischief. As at the time of the said protest, she, Iyaloja General, was in Lagos, engaging with stakeholders and market leaders on the need to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner. By way of information, she has not yet left Lagos as we write this rejoinder.
We condemn in strongest of all terms, the attempt by the Peter Obi’s hatchet men to drag our Matron’s name and pristine reputation into the vortex of bitter politics and campaign of evil. Also we urge members of the public to discountenance the juvenile theatricals of Peter Obi and his ilks, in their desperate attempt to cling on to every straw (even if it is the tail of a venomous serpent), in a bid to remain politically afloat.
Even when we acknowledge the inalienable right of every Nigerian to freedom of expression and assembly as guaranteed by the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, we want to urge you all to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his quest to re-engineer the Nigerian economy and lead the country to the valley of prosperity. We have crossed the dark cloud; the worst is over, but we fear that any violent protest at this stage would plunge the country backwards, further destabilize the economy and usher in social anarchy in a magnitude that would outpace the 2020 EndSARS insurrection.
Finally, we urge the youth to embrace national dialogue rather than violent protest that may serve as a tragic replay of the Gen Z protest in Kenya.
Together we can make Nigeria great through the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Thank you and join us to say NO to violent protest!
