The students of Niger Delta University, led by their SUG President, Comrade Tamaratare Apere paid a courtesy visit to the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Chief Dr. Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo.
During the visit, Tamaratare expressed heartfelt appreciation to Chief Dr. Folasade Tinubu-Ojo for her unwavering commitment to the welfare of Nigerian traders. He particularly commended her for sponsoring the education of several traders’ children through scholarship programs across various tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
The SUG President also lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its impactful educational reforms, especially the establishment of the National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
He described the initiative as a transformative policy that bridges the gap between children of the wealthy, middle class, and the underprivileged. He noted that thousands of students from the Niger Delta region have benefited from the scheme and assured the Iyaloja-General of the students’ resolve to support the continuity of President Tinubu’s legacy and laudable reforms.
In a moment of artistic tribute, the President of the Faculty of Environment, Comrade Destiny Ogaga showcased his refined talent by presenting a handmade artwork to Chief Dr. Tinubu-Ojo. He described the piece as a symbol of the Iyaloja-General’s strength, passion, and virtuous exploits—qualities that continue to inspire younger generations and Nigerian women.
Responding to the gestures, the Iyaloja-General expressed profound gratitude to the Association for their visit and recognition. She pledged her continued support whenever needed and encouraged the students to keep sensitizing the youth on the policies of the current administration. She urged them to take full advantage of the opportunities being provided.
