In commemoration of her second anniversary as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Havilla University, Chief Dr. Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, has awarded tuition-free scholarships to over 1,000 students of Havilla University.
The initiative reflects her unwavering commitment to youth empowerment and educational advancement. Speaking at the ceremony on Monday, 9th of March 2026, at her Abuja office, Chief Folasade Tinubu-Ojo described education as “the only leveler between the rich and the poor in society,” emphasizing that every Nigerian youth deserves access to quality education to ensure a brighter future for the nation.
She expressed gratitude to the Governing Council of Havilla University, led by Chancellor Hon. Jones Tangban, for their exceptional leadership, which has positioned Havilla University among Africa’s leading institutions. She pledged continued support for Nigerian students, particularly those at Havilla University.
Notably, Iyaloja-General had earlier donated the Folasade Tinubu-Ojo Complex to the institution and already laid the foundation for the Folasade Tinubu-Ojo Centre for Vocational Studies within Havilla University, further strengthening her legacy of educational development.
This scholarship program adds to her extensive record of educational support, with thousands of beneficiaries across institutions such as Philomath University, GrandPlus College of Education, Kwara State, and Foreign Link Academy campuses nationwide.
In his remarks, Hon. Tangban thanked Iyaloja-General for her generosity, noting that her gesture aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu’s administration, even though the scholarships are personally funded.
Closing the ceremony, Iyaloja-General urged beneficiaries to embrace the opportunity with seriousness and determination, expressing her hope to see them excel in leadership and service in the near future.
The event was attended by distinguished personalities including Ambassador Kingsley Amafibe, Maryam Ashley Yusuf, Dr. Amina Mohammed, and members of the Havilla University Governing Council.
