Shortly after the festival, Chief Dr. Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo proceeded to the Palace Hall for the much-anticipated turbanning ceremony.
In a significant traditional ceremony, the Emir of Daura, His Royal Highness Faruk Umar Faruk, CON, formally decorated the Iyaloja-General as the JAKADIYAR KARSA HAUSA and presented her with the staff of office, symbolising the royal confidence and responsibility bestowed upon her.
The prestigious title places the Iyaloja-General in a distinguished position as an ambassador and representative of Hausa cultural values, with a responsibility to promote, preserve, and defend the honour, dignity, heritage, and prestige of Hausa sons and daughters across Nigeria and around the world.
In a similar fashion, the Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, was also honoured with a prestigious title at the occasion, further underscoring the significance of the historic gathering.
A major highlight of the event was the spectacular display of the rich traditional heritage of the Hausa people, featuring colourful cultural performances representing different historical clans, heroes, and traditions of the Hausa lands.
The occasion also served as a powerful demonstration of love, unity, and national integration, as the people of Daura warmly embraced the Iyaloja-General as a daughter of Katsina State and a distinguished global ambassador of the Arewa people by virtue of her new title, JAKADIYAR KARSA HAUSA.
The historic ceremony further reflected the enduring bonds between Nigeria’s diverse communities and the importance of preserving the country’s rich cultural heritage while promoting unity and mutual respect.
