On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the Executive Governor of Katsina State, His Excellency, Governor Umar Dikko Radda, hosted the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Chief Dr. Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, and her entourage at the Katsina State Government Lodge in Katsina City, the capital of Katsina State.
The warm reception accorded the Iyaloja-General and her entourage by Governor Radda further reaffirmed his affection for Nigeria’s First Family and the special bond between the people of Katsina State and the family of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In his warm welcome remarks, Governor Radda thanked the Iyaloja-General for consistently regarding Katsina State as her second home. He noted that it was therefore fitting that she would be honoured with one of the most prestigious traditional titles in Hausaland; JAKADIYAR KARSA HAUSA, a distinguished title conferred on her by the Emir of Daura, with the blessing and recognition of the kingdoms and emirate councils under the ancestral Daura Kingdom.
Governor Radda also publicly acknowledged the far-reaching reforms of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting their positive impact on states across Nigeria. He commended the administration for helping states move from the brink of insolvency towards greater financial viability, competitiveness, infrastructural development and improved capacity to meet their primary obligations.
The Governor further pledged his commitment to ensuring the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. He promised to leave no stone unturned in reaching out to electorates across Katsina State while also collaborating with fellow governors across the North-West to mobilise support for President Tinubu’s second-term bid.
In her response, the Iyaloja-General expressed profound appreciation to Governor Umar Dikko Radda for his warm hospitality and for his outstanding contributions to the development of Katsina State. She particularly commended him for his unwavering support and loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; her beloved father.
Chief Dr. Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo pledged to work closely with Governor Radda and other stakeholders towards securing victory for all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The pre-turbaning meeting ended on a cordial and memorable note, with Governor Radda promising to personally accompany the Iyaloja-General to the palace of the Emir of Daura on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, for her historic turbaning ceremony.
